4creativeliving@sbcglobal.net Positive Parenting Saturday Morning Group This group is for parents of children between the ages of 3 and 18. It is a small inter-active group (limited to eight adults) that will be held at the Center.
WHEN: One Saturday each month, 9:30 until noon. Call for details.
These groups will be made up of eight women who are willing to commit themselves to this process for three months. They meet two times each month and you have four groups to choose from.
WHEN: Tuesday Groups twice monthly Lunch Group 12:00 - 1:30 PM or Evening Group 6:30 - 8:00 PM
Thursday Groups twice monthly Morning Group 9:30 - 11:00 AM or Evening Group 6:30 - 8:00 PM
WHERE: Center for Creative Living, Danville.
FEE: $25 per session

Step families can be very challenging. If you are in a step family, or considering entering into a step family, this group is for you. We will explore many important issues, including the following:
Who disciplines the children
What kind of discipline works best
How to handle a difficult ex-spouse
How are "step-children" different
Is it normal for step-kids to be angry, sad, rebellious
How to juggle everyone's schedules
How to handle Holidays and vacations
How to handle family rules and routines
and many more...

STEP MOM'S SUPPORT GROUP:
Being a parent is a challenging job, yet to take on the responsibility of being a "step mom" can be the most difficult task one can imagine. You have all the duties of a "mom" without the power, respect, biological-connection, or control that comes with being a parent. Come and join with other step-moms who are in similar situations. Together we can encourage and support each other in facing these daunting tasks. In a safe environment we will brain-storm helpful solutions to the myriad of problems that often occur, including the following:
Dealing with ex's
Discipline of children
Money issues
Building a solid and supportive couple's relationship
Stress management
Juggling schedules and visitations
Dealing with Holidays and vacations
YOUR personal "favorites"
WHEN: Every first Thursday of the month Noon until 1:30 PM

This group offers highly functioning men, ages 35 through 65, an opportunity to explore life issues in a supportive atmosphere. This group has been meeting for more than five years. A commitment of at least four months is requested of each participant. The group is limited to eight men, and new members are invited in as space permits.
WHEN: This group meets on Tuesdays, twice monthly, 7:30 until 9:00 PM WHERE: Center for Creative Living, Danville
FEE: $320 for a four month series (EIGHT SESSIONS) or $90 per month

Groups offer a wonderful way to share the load, and lessen the load. In a group, you find others who are facing challenges similar to those you are facing. You find caring people and new techniques to deal with specific life-situations. The supportive group offers something quite different than individual therapy.
